Lean Six Sigma combines Lean and Six Sigma methodology. Lean comprises of a set of tools to minimize any non-value-adding activities termed as waste in the workflow. Lean also seeks to standardize workflow.
Six Sigma is a data-driven approach to reducing process variations or defects and improve efficiency to augment business performance and subsequently increased profitability. Six Sigma consists of a few different methodologies, the most popular of which are DMAIC and DMADV. DMAIC stands for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control which are sequential steps.
